Wet And Windy But Still Fishing…

| By Captain Jeff Shelar

Well this week we had some serious fronts come through almost everyday. The good part was that the fish didn’t mind a little rain. We had to cut a few days short due to lightning. Caught several nice tarpon this week with most in the 100= pound range. Went offshore and caught a few mahi mahi, but in general it was a little slow. Still some nice action on the reef for yellowtail snapper and other species. The highlight of the week was my good ol’ charter and friend Steve McMichaels. He just had brain surgery less than six months ago and caught a beautiful 110-120lb. tarpon. It was great to see him back on my boat and still smiling. He is one tough old bird.
Well, Until Next Week…..
