Yes, I’m writing a report! Time to shock everyone! The fishing the past few months has just been great!
The offshore fishing for mahi mahi has been some of the best late season fishing I’ve seen in years. Lots of nice fish in the 8-15lb. range, with usually a few bigger fish thrown in. A few weeks ago we were only nine miles from shore and kept 32 fish. We let go probably another 20 fish. The reef has also been great for nice catches of medium sized mangrove snapper. About three weeks ago we had a nice run of big amberjacks. We had several trips where we caught at least one fish over 50 pounds. The biggest one caught this season was a few weeks ago, and weighed a whopping 78 pounds! It pulled us over a mile before we got it in the net. Well, that’s about it for now. On a personal note, we are looking for someone who would like to trade some fishing for a place to stay when we go skiing. We are looking at going to Keystone or Vail this year. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Well, Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff
